This is not a trial and it is not a trap. Under about €2,000 a month of model spend, what Cost finds for you will not cover what Cost costs. There is no honest way to charge you for that. Wrap your client, watch the number, and pay us when your spend grows into it.

Effective cost = the plan price as a share of your monthly AI spend. Your plan is set by your spend at signup and fixed for 12 months.
We don't win when your bill grows.
Your price is set by your model spend at signup and locked for twelve months. Cost's whole job is to cut that spend - and every euro we save is yours to keep. We only re-baseline at renewal, where a lower bill only ever helps you.
Self-serve billing is not open yet. The free tier works today: sign in, wrap one client and watch the number. For a paid plan, email us and we will set it up by hand until self-serve opens.
Common questions
- How do you decide which plan I'm on?
- By your average monthly model spend when you sign up. Cost measures it for you in the first two weeks, then places you in the matching band. Under €2,000 a month there is nothing to pay. Above that, the band you sign up in is the price you pay for twelve months, even if your spend grows into a higher one. The free tier is not locked: once your metered spend passes €2,000 a month you move to the matching band at the next billing cycle. It is a price lock, not a minimum term, and you can cancel any month.
- If Cost cuts my spend, do I drop to a cheaper plan - or are you incentivised not to save me too much?
- No, and no. Your plan is fixed at signup for the term, so we never move you down for succeeding, and every euro we save you is yours to keep. We only re-baseline at renewal, where lower spend can only work in your favour. We make money when you keep us, not when your bill grows.
- What counts as AI spend?
- Everything Cost meters: your Anthropic / OpenAI / Gemini API cost across every wrapped route, in euros. It's the same number the dashboard shows you. Individual Claude or ChatGPT seats are subscription cost, not API spend, and aren't counted.
- Do you store my prompts?
- By default, no. The SDK sends metadata only (model, route, hashed user id, token counts, latency, cost, plus a SHA-256 hash of the prompt). Raw request and response bodies are sent only when you explicitly pass captureBodies: true to wrap() for a route, which is what powers verify-downgrade. When opted in, raw bodies are retained for 30 days on the free tier and 90 days on paid plans, then purged automatically. See the privacy page for the full data flow.
- Cancel anytime?
- Yes, monthly, with no minimum term. The 12-month figure is a price lock, not a commitment: the band you sign up in is the band you pay for twelve months, even if your spend grows past it. Cancellations take effect at the end of the billing cycle and you keep access through what you have already paid for.
